The Star
“Self Healing”
This card is the Loveliest. I didn’t write these card bios in order. I saved this one for last. This card sums up the entire Tarot. Nearly every client who comes to see me pulls this card. Why? Because The Star is exactly why they come to see me—they are ready to heal. Are you particularly drawn to The Star? Then you are ready to heal too. Time to get yourself some spiritual support. Have a reading. Double up on the therapy. Let go of that “coaching” and replace it with massage. Get yourself some bath toys and bubbles. It’s time to take really good care of you. The naked vulnerability of The Star tells you that you’ve reached a point in your life where you are able to see yourself in a way that can finally allow things to change. This is true self-love and needs to be met with self-care. SO much self care.
It’s gentle. Which is nice because the Tarot and life isn’t always very gentle. The Star is. It’s not a time for action—it’s a time for integration. Have I written about “constructive rest,” yet? Probably in The Empress. The Star asks for you to rest too. Lay on the ground or sit in a chair and just be. If you are able to touch your bare feet to the earth, do it often. Go to nature. Let yourself BE healed. It’s not about pushing or forcing, it’s about allowing. The Star is here to say in the most gentle loving voice, “I see you.” Let your transformation be honored. Honor yourself.
I know, I know “But what should I DO?”
I would ask you—what have you already been doing and not given yourself enough credit for? Ahhhh, yeah all that growing you’ve been doing? Have you noticed? The Star has. The Star sees you. It’s time for you to see yourself too. If you “do” anything, it’s to look in the mirror and honor how much you have changed—see the beauty in who you are now. Embrace yourself. And then lighten up on the self-pressure so you can integrate all the change—actually, it’s a good time to Slow Down.
Did you have a favorite lullaby when you were little? Is there a particular album that brings you the most comfort? Have you listened to nature sounds lately? The Star is a good time to comfort yourself with sounds. (Not food, drink, exercise, etc) Sounds. Our ears are a huge part of our nervous system and we don’t use them as a self-healing tool enough. (No podcasts for a week!) Use soothing sounds to help your system integrate all the change you have done. You will literally feel stronger for it. Here’s some music to help you (shameless plug). The idea is to create a comforting, effortless space for yourself so you can take in that deep full-body breath—and let it out.
Try that now. Think of all you’ve done. Take in a deep breath. And let it out.
The Star sees you—and is proud of you.
It’s time for you to be proud of you too.
